Great to see your progress. Blasted weather has beaten me. Have just got the computer back from the repair shop to fix lightning damage. The wind that went with it trashed the roof of the house grrr Have just cleaned up the mess. May have to reinforce the roof it seems this is a problem with this brand of house who designs a house that can't handle wind. The suggestion of a plumbing shop for pumps is a great one, will have to go and have a look round. You are right when you say hort suppliers cost earth. P.S. Looks like we just won the rugby Matti

Oh don't get me wrong, plumbing supplies are expensive, I spent over $1000 on this automatic misting system (and it's a bloody good one at that) I designed it with the guy from the plumbing shops help along the way, and I just finished installing it today pictures will follow, it works like a dream it is a very fine mist almost like being on Kinabalu itself. The particular Heads that I use for this system are the same as I use over my Sarracenia's, they are very cheep and redibly available , made by Hansen I believe, they put out a VERY fine mist and work very well. I also bought a plunge router today to route the side boards to attach the film to, it took me a couple of hours because the timber was a hard wood (not sure what kind) so the going was slow and broke the cutter of one of the bits (Breaking tungsten carbide on timber? hmmmm.....) and ended up starting a small fire underneath the router and burning the $**t out of the timber (thats what happens when you go to slow and let the saw dust built up under neath it) but it's done, I might go back tomorrow and install it all around the base of the frame. Did New Zealand win the rugby? Why would I care then? my dad and half my family are from NZ so I am neutral. ;D Go with the pump I got if you can it is small, it supply's a great pressure to run a tap and a misting system to a greenhouse at a great price. New job is going well, 9 hour days pays above award wage, already been through two gas bottles and a spool of MIG wire. By the way for any Australians reading, can you get a load of how cold it has been lately? it was minus 2 the other morning (I live near Brisbane) when I went to work (7:30) and when I got to work the water trough for the cattle next to the shed was frozen over and birds were walking across the top of it trying to get a drink, it was still frozen at smoko time (9:30).

You don't by any chance have any heliamphora under your mist system? Would love to give them a go but have killed one already. Great to here the new jobs going well Matti I think I need a new one to help pay for new plastic. Round here the house water pipes are freezing occasionally is a cold winter this year for NZ too.

Oki, might have to have another look around here and see. There's a grower how grows them in a shaded glasshouse under misters.
Sorry I just thought you might have a few plants tucked away, like I have in the house while I get the greenhouse house built.

Ok, as promised. ;D Half of my six meter long trench. The pipe for the misting system. Other half othe 6 meter trench, showing the solonoid, filter and line leading up into the pumpshed. The filter. Another angel of the solonoid and filter. The router routing groves, just for the sake of it. Controller box hooked up to the solonoid for a test run. And Matti said "Let there be mist, and there was mist" Sorry, only half of the misters were installed in this picture and the wind was blowing it around something fearce but the photo still dose it no justice, it is like being in heaven under that system, notice how it appears to "Float". All installed, but I wish this photo had of turned out aswell as the last one, it just dose not do it justice.
