matti, according to my experience, the cost of the greenhouse itself is only about a third of the cost of the total, and final system including, excavating for legal, and proper reinforced concrete footings, and foundations, heat, and pure water, hot and cold water outlets with sink, drainage plumbing, and cooling systems, not to mention humidification, proper electrical outlets, and benches, back-up heating, and backup electrical, and emergency notifications of high/low temps alarms, and ventilation fans, ... etc. ... been there, ... done that! welcome to the club! Thanks ritch, I am doing the frame myself so price will come down considerably, things like excavating the ground do not need to be done, nor pouring the concrete, I have a little system worked out, it is not going to be as fancy as yours but it will work, everything is DIY from me. On another note, I got my cooling pad for me wet wall system, I just need to put it through the bandsaw at work because I ordered a 6ft pad that is ment to stand on it's end rather than on it's side as I origonally thought, I will also have to fabricate an aluminium frame.... more work. I have not been able to order the steel yet.. the gremlins have gotten into the car on the one day I could go and order (last week) and this week I had no time to order it, so hopefully next week. Matti.

Matti always enjoy your posts, I live in the northern part of the US, our biggest costs are of course are heating in the winter months; sounds like this may not be an issue for you; I agree the largest amount of monies were consumed not by the greenhouse structure rather all the 'things' that go into its support, post pics when time permits regards ed ps" any Stylidium seeds to pass around, I find these plants fantastic!!

Matti Take a look at a website called 'A world of Pinguicula" under the 'growing tips' section (sorry I am not sure how to do the link; I hope this info will get you to the website) great pics of what they call a 'dripping wall'; they grow pings with this method, kinda cool regards ed

Just curious, what is your name?. I enquired about an smallish exhaust fan and they wanted $1000 for it! With regards to the drip wall it is different to a wet wall, wet wall is for cooling not growing. I will see what I can do for you regarding the stylidium, I do not grow them but have seen them in the wild.

Here's a photo of my greenhouse. I winter some things through here since we get a few freezes a year. My buddy is a builder and someone asked hime to take this greenhouse to the dump! it was probably about $1500 new - I bought it off my buddy for $200. At my office we have almost the same greenhouse but a metal frame instead of wood. I'd say the metal is MUCH better at sealing. But the wood looks a bit better from a distance. I don't have any lights or cooling system - so it can get really hot in the summer. the panels are polycarbonate.

Matt BS What a great deal, I won't tell you what I paid for my greenhouse, place some hanging bars across the greenhouse, probably would add to the strength of the structure and you could had some neps; keep the photo's coming regards ed

I am going to get something setup in a few monthes, It will have steel poles shaped of a half circle sorta like the UK polytunnels put using steel frame, Part will be for a garden though. I may do double poly to keep in the heat.

Steel arived today, should get cracking tomorrow. Matti.
