Yup, I like naturally occurring hybrids in the wild but not the ones that humans induce to get a certain characteristic out of a plant

Tanukimo, mind if I add you as a friend? It's actually quite refreshing for someone to have the same views as I do in regards to my feelings on hybrid CP's.

Hi,
Thanks for the link! I am seeing some Sarracenia species in there but what does the "Var" mean in their latin names? ex:Sarracenia flava "var" cuprea

Hello everyone.
I want to know what kind of wild Sarracenia and Sundews are found growing in the same bog as Venus Fly Traps? This is just something that interests me for many reasons. I am in western Canada so I just can't drive up to areas were they are and see for myself or I would. I have done some research myself in the wonderful world of Google but it just gives me plants from different areas and not necessarily what I am looking for.

Hi,
I am new here to the forums and the community here sounds awesome. I have had pretty prompt answers so far which is greatly appreciated. I am 26 years old and live in British Columbia Canada near Vancouver and have been here for about 2 1/2 years now and I love it. The weather out east of where I lived in Canada is so much better here. The snow out east is unbelievable and I don't miss it one bit. I have had an interest in CP's for as long as I can remember, I have made a few mistakes along the way but I learned from them. I hope to someday to expand my CP collection, as of right now I have 1 Typical VFT which I am keeping and hope to get more. 1 Giant Red & 1 Big Jaws. but I am looking to give my Giant Red & Big Jaws away due to the fact that they aren't naturally occurring in the wild (Yes I am a stickler for naturals only). I guess your probably wondering why I want to give them away and why I got them in the first place. Well to answer that question is I got the Giant Red from The Urban Bog here in Canada here as a free gift for ordering at least 25$ worth of soil and plants as a bonus. I got the Big Jaws also for free at a place they were selling VFT's and things. When they offered it to me I didn't want to be rude and say no so I gladly took it.
Well that is pretty much sums it up about me.
Cheers, Jonathan

Hey again,
First off I would like to say I am new here and I have been impressed with the community so far. I do however have a few question in regards to the Drosera species. My questions are, does Drosera Brevifolia require a dormancy period? & what method is used to germinate the seeds of this Drosera? I have the same two questions in regards to D.Capillaris the typical form. The kind that is found in the Carolinas commonly found in close proximity close to the Venus Fly Trap.
So if someone knows please let me know!
Jonathan

Does anyone here know where I can get the "Typical" Form of D.Capillaris seeds then?

Which form would be the Typical form? The red form? The giant form? or something else?

I thought there was different forms for different areas of the world. So you are saying that the Florida form can also be found in the Carolinas? I am asking because I am trying to make a Carolinian Bog garden outside here in British Columbia Canada and I am a stickler for it to be as accurate as possible to the real Carolinian bog.
Let me know,
Thanks for the response!

Hi there,
I know there are many different forms of D.Capillaris such as the Florida,Long Arm & Red form etc. But which form lives in the Carolinas?
If someone could let me know that would be great!
Jonathan
