I discovered NECPS by accident while in shcool in RI. I can't remember if it was the first or second plant show but i went every year i lived close enough to go. I bet it's even better today then it was back in 2004-2007ish and even then it was pretty amazing! I still have a plant i purchased from then growing today.

The climate in New Jersey can get very hot in the summer but this past year we didn't have a spring. The average temperature were in the upper 40's to 50's until June almost and then they shot up to the 80's overnight and stayed there until August where we had a few days in 90's. I think one of the biggest differences is the night time temperatures. Even in June it can get into the 60's at night and again as early as September outdoors here. I can't remember if it was spring of 2013 or 2012 but we had a foot of snow in April!!
As for the plant I labeled as Leah Wilkerson, I can't be 100% sure on it but through process of elimination that should be it. I moved a few times bewteen 2010 and spring of 2013 and labels were misplaced. What i did was I knew one of my plants were sold to me as a Leah Wilkerson cultivar and so i picked the one that was most different from the other Leucophylla's I have and assumed that was it. I guess I should have double checked it before posting but either way i still love the pitchers on the plant and now I can correcttly name as Moorei thank you!!

Hey all here are a few photos of my small garden. It was larger but it was attacked by some kind of vermit and killed over half my crop before I could build a cage around them. It was a sad day..... Anayways I'm waiting for my seedlings to get large enough to endure outdoor weather and then the space will be filled in. This is not my entire collection I have a few Nepenthes not posted here. [a href="http:// "]Click me to see them[/a] [a href="http:// "]link[/a] This is my first time posting photos if they don't look correct please message me with what I did wrong so next time I get it right. Thank you and I hope you enjoyed.

Nepenthes99 and or RL7836,
Would you two, or anyone willing to take lead on this, possibly try and get something planned for March/April maybe? A more realistic suggestion from me would be an inaugural meet and greet type of event. If possible maybe do a small talk on winter care of plants in the mid-atlantic or early spring care, just as a generalized agenda to get discussion going.

I would love to go out to a bog but every weekend of mine is booked for October thanks to the future wife. I could squeeze in something on the 20th/21st but no promises. I propose mixing carnivorous plants with a football sunday? Maybe have a meeting at a sports bar/restaurant?

I've had a few flower buds pop on my Sarracenia Leucophylla's as well this fall. I'm assuming it's connected to the weather so i just cut the buds off to help preserve the plants "energy" for winter dormancy.
Anyone else see this with their plants this season?

I think this is a good idea and would love to see this come together. Let me know what you decide and hopefully i can even help out in some way.

I like that answer!! it's extremely open for interpretation. i would take it even a step further and say that determining a person as a success and failure based on future goals is irrelevant. If you are surviving you are succeeding IMO.

Ok so I am in the middle of trying to germinate some Darlingtonia from seed and am having some difficulty. I stratified them for four weeks using peat/moisture/fridge and then sowed them in a 1:1 peat/perlite mixture under 16hrs of light from fluorescent bulbs (2 40 watt bulbs). It has been about 9 weeks and not a single one has sprouted yet. My question is do i need to use a longer stratification period? Should i use a different medium? Or do i just need to wait longer thanks

I actually have a packet of D. capensis from the ICPS seed bank growing as well and the plants formed dew immediatley after the first true leaves formed. If memory serves me right it took about a month weeks after initial germination. The batch i have now germinated the first week of January and are starting to look like miniature Drosera This is my first attempt at growing Drosera as well

I used a little of peat and mixed the seeds into a ziplock bag, added some distilled water, shook, and then put an elastic around at the time to keep some air in the bags. i then placed them in a fridge for 5 weeks. However, i did not do anything to sterlize the peat/perlite mixture i potted them. I was in a rush and forgot to do it. After that i placed them in a glass aquarium under some grow lights and have sprayed with a fungicide every two weeks since then.

Yea it's a grey mold but i like the idea of it not harming them!! I spryaed fungicide about a week ago and then again last night. The mold has not visibly harmed them yet i'm just afraid of it overtaking the media. I love the CD/ebook you guys offer jdallas!! (Unless you are not the person i think you are oops)
Thanks for all the input and if things work out my Sarracenia collection should grow in number substanitially
