Does anyone know the nepenthes that are available from lowes? And how old the ones in the containers are?

Most of them, from my experience, turned out to be various forms of the "N. ventrata" or red forms of N. ventricosa (which may also be a hybrid population) but I have had a few plants turn out to be very nice plants of a N. spathulata x N. veitchii (lowland) hybrids! and an occasional N. maxima x ?? hybrid.

Most of them are either TC plants or seedlings that are about a year old.

With a simple Google search you would have gotten your answer faster than you would have waiting for someone to reply. Try it out for yourself. Type in "TC Nepenthes" in Google and you'll find your answer.

at lowes (in the cubes) youll fine 'Judith Finn', ventricosa, and ventrata. those are from Botanical Wonders. in hanging baskets you'll find 'Miranda' and ventrata. sometimes youll see plants from Gubler's they have the famous unknown maxima hybrid. Alex

Lowes in next to my office; I have seen some nice VFT and some nice Darlingtonia in the 'cubes'; i feel the need to rescue these plants; Lowes loves to see me coming; Home Depot in my area seems to carry plants only from Gubler's; not as nice as Lowes regards ed

We used to have a store called Franks Nursery's that had them but they went bankrupt.
I have never seen the hanging baskets at Lowes or Home Depot in this area. As a matter of a fact its been almost 3-4 years since I've seen anything other than fly traps at HD. I remember 4 years ago they would get nice assortments but now it's the same supplier but it's all fly traps. Every time I've seen any plants at Lowes they come in assortments and they always look pitiful, even when they first get there.
Just by chance a year of so ago at Home Depot, I did find a single parrot pitcher plant (Sarracenia psittacina) in with a mix of plants from a vendor that specializes in tropical house plants (angel exotics or something like that) It was a first time I ever saw a CP from that supplier and there was only 1.

Well the HD plants are almost always little brownish redish pots about 4" round. They have clear plastic domes taped to the top. There is a little picture insert in the dome with some often crappy care instructions.
The quality is actually quite nice if you get to them in the first week or two they arrive. Normally all of the pots containing CPs will be grouped together and sitting in some kind of card board display. I don't think I've seen then in our area much in the summer .... seems to be a fall/spring/winter things... I guess for when the outside garden yard section is not busy.
