Never had any problems. Great site by Barry Rice It might be just that it isn't very often updated and doesn't run the most modern of software, but for al kinds of information it is still a great place.

I've never had problems with it either, but both WOT and hpHosts have it listed as containing malicious content.

Like other similar services, WOT is not particularly reliable and the data may easily be poisoned by malicious individuals who hold a grudge.

I believe Barry's site has been hacked several times in the past and he resurrected it. Perhaps that is why it shows up in WOT. It has been reliable for quite a while now.

I like Barry's site and often reference it, just was wondering why WOT blocks it. Aidan perhaps hit the nail on the head.

I've never had a problem. As Bob points at the site has been hacked in the past and probably ended up in the WOT database and never updated. Sometimes it requires feedback from the webmaster or some other responsible person to get it de-listed. The same can happen if your server/site/domain gets blacklisted as a spammer or open relay. Many of the virus sites offer on-demand webpage/site scans. eg: www.siteadvisor.com/sites/www.sarracenia.comFrom the user comments associated with the above page: Rating: Adware, spyware, or viruses
Segundo o site www.hosts-file.net/, ao acessar este domnio voc corre o risco de inadvertidamente baixar e instalar software malicioso (vrus, cavalos de troia, spyware, etc) que pode danificar seu computador.
According to www.hosts-file.net/ if you access this domain you risk to unwillingly download and install malicious software (virus, trojans, spyware, etc) that may damage your computer.

user.siteadvisor.com/forums/search.php?searchid=492324It appears Alexis Kauffmann posts roughly 318 times a day. Wow, now that's something. "He" could very possibly be an automated bot that posts using a program that runs sites through other filters for detecting spam or malware... which of course could just be false.

OK, so maybe 'Alexis Kauffmann' checked the site at a time that it had been hacked. Perhaps Barry could get this revoked on siteadviser and WOT?

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the information about these ratings. As Bob noted, I have had my site hacked a couple of times in the past. Most recently, I was dismayed to find really NAAAAAAASTY content on my web site.
I've since changed passwords, removed alien content, etc. I'm signing onto these web sites to try to get my ratings changed.
Sheesh.

weird page to target.

I have no idea why I was targeted. But it has complicated my life! I've submitted requests for reviews to hphosts and mywot, but neither web site has moved on my site yet.
It's a little frustrating that these sites pronounce other sites as reliable or unreliable, but why they apparently do in-depth analyses of other sites, they do not proactively contact the so-called flawed sites with warnings. Scanning the various forums of these sites, I find I am certainly not alone. Lots of harmless websites can lousy reviews because they've been hacked. Leading with a stick, instead of a carrot, is not particularly helpful.

It's not necessarily personal. If the server system or application software is insecure, then the skiddies (script kiddies) will sooner or later find a backdoor in and compromise your site for their own perverse reasons. Once this happens and your site becomes listed on services like WoT, it may be less than straightforward or downright impossible to get delisted.
