I've got some questions about utric seeds and seedlings.
First off, how long do seeds remain viable?
What do utric seedlings look like?
How long does it normally take them to germinate?
I've only recently started trying to grow utrics from seed.. and these are just the questions I've had since I have so far not been able to germinate any kind yet. Granted, I've only tried twice so far. The second try is still ongoing as well.

For the pictures of seed there are many links on the photo finder here: (maintanied by Bob of this board) users.humboldt.edu/rziemer/Utricularia.htmlGo about six headings down and I'm sure one of those links will help you with the picture portion. What conditions are you using for your attempts?

Actually I looked there last night, and I did find some pictures. I was kinda hoping some people here would have some as well.
My conditions are simple.. peat and sand at equal parts in a small pot with a very high water table. I keep it pretty close to the lights so it gets a small amount of warmth.

If you do a quick search of this sub-forum for my user name you should find 2 posts I made with seedling pics.
As for viability, most Utric seed are notoriously short lived. Anything beyond 6 months old and you will likely have very poor germination.

Alright.. then I know to pretty much never buy utric seeds again unless they say the harvest date... thanks.
