Hey Folks,
I recently realized something....if you believe in the name Sarracenia rosea, then it would seem that Sarracenia x catesbaei (i.e. S. flava x purpurea) from the Atlantic Coast would be a different entity from the similar hybrid from the Gulf Coast. Looking at Jan's database, I was able to determine the following:
1)Sarracenia × exornata was based upon a plant from Theodore, Alabama. Therefore the name designates a plant with Sarracenia alata × rosea ancestry. I know of no hybrid name for Sarracenia alata × purpurea s. st.
2)Sarracenia × catesbaei was based upon a plant from Chesterfield, South Carolina. Therefore the name designates a plant with Sarracenia flava × purpurea s. st. ancestry. I know of no hybrid name for Sarracenia flava × rosea.
3)Sarracenia × mitchelliana was based upon a plant from Bay Minette, Florida. Therefore the name designates a plant with Sarracenia leucophylla × rosea ancestry. I know of no hybrid name for Sarracenia leucophylla × purpurea s. st.
4)Sarracenia × swaniana was based upon a plant from Shallotte, North Carolina. Therefore the name designates a plant with Sarracenia minor × purpurea s. st. ancestry. I know of no hybrid name for Sarracenia minor × rosea.
5)Sarracenia × courtii was based upon a plant developed in the UK in cultivation. I currently do not know where the parent plants were originally collected, so I cannot determine if this is a cross indicating Sarracenia psittacina × rosea or Sarracenia psittacina × purpurea s. st.
6)Sarracenia × chelsonii was based upon a plant developed in the UK in cultivation. I currently do not know where the parent plants were originally collected, so I cannot determine if this is a cross indicating Sarracenia rubra × rosea or Sarracenia rubra × purpurea s. st.
I have a table summarizing this application of hybrid names here:

Cheers
