I recently ordered a Sarracenia leucophylla "Red #1" from Michelle and Trent Meeks at SunbelleExotics.com-- www.sunbelleexotics.com/It arrived today in great shape. Beautiful plant; had to take a photo after I planted it. Thanks so much Trent and Michelle.

That looks great. I can't wait till my S. leucophylla seedlings get some color.

My my, that really is a classic, beautifully colored plant. There's such an emphasis in some circles to have a white-topped plant, that I think we often overlook how absolutely fabulous this species is when given a nice dose of red venation.
Very, very nice!

I have a major case of the flu, but I couldn't resist taking another photo of the same S. leucophylla "Red #1" this morning, backlit by the just-risen sun (April 16, 2007). ;D -Steve

Looks like the leuco is getting plenty to eat Yes, I live in an arid region of eastern New Mexico, US, but it is cattle ranching and dairy country, so there are billions of flies of many kinds. The pitchers typically get at least halfway full with prey the first day they open, if they are outside for the day. All of my VFT traps are typically sprung within an hour or two of being placed outside on a nice day, many of course with trapped flies inside.

I am very jealous. When I look out the window I see a foot of snow. Not a beautiful carnivorous plant.

Barry Hello . You're right Barry and if the red venation ones were few, you would see some of the very same people craving for it! Steve, that is a beautiful Sarracenia! Friendly, François.
