I have some pings under a compact "warm" 100 watt equivalant growlight unfortunately sometimes I forget to turn it off so sometimes it is on for 24 hours instead of 12 is this bad over the long run ? I am going to get a timer but I am curious. There happy and the leafs pullings I take are sprouting without effort.

As far as getting the leaves to shoot new plantlets, you can experiment with the lighting. There are some plants that may shoot better with a period of complete darkness, whereas others shoot better with 24 hours of light. Once rooted, they should be growing under lights with a timer to make your life much easier.

Better to add more lights for 14 hours or so. Most plants need some rest. BTW, 25 watts of CFL is a little on the low side when your pings get larger. I use the 4 foot shoplights with 80 watts, with the pings about 5 inches under them for best growth. Peter.

I think it is 40 watts at 100 watt eqivialnt. There new so there still coloring up, but when winter hits I'll buy a 4 foot fixture for my drosera pings and nepenthes. There rooting really nicely, before I had no luck but now after a week there sprouting The fixture is a cone shaped reflecter so I Think they will get enoughe light I'll see. Thanks for the suggestions and help

It doesn't matter what the equivalent is. That's irrelevant.
When you go for a shoplight, go ahead and get a model that uses 4 lamps instead of two. If you have the space for it, that is.
