Hello everyone!
I was just recently introduced to this forum so I thought I'd try to post my first message.
I've been a long time fan of carnivorous plants and just recently obtained a VFT, and three Pinguicula primuliflora. They appear to be doing well; however, I have a newbie question for you all. I live in north Texas area so I was thinking that the conditions outside here are ideal for these plants so I have placed them outside in my patio. It has a tarp cover so they are in slightly shaded conditions. I do my best to keep their soil medium moist at all times with DI water. Unfortunately, I accidentally watered them with water from my outdoor hose which I'm assuming is the same as watering from the tap? Will this affect my pings and VFT? I hope not...I would love to have some luck with these plants. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you for the time.
Best regards, -duc nguyen.

Can't say since we don't know anything about your water. Probably not but don't make a habit out of it unless you know your tap/hose water is suitable.
Flush them out. Repot if you're paranoid.

Welcome to the forum. Using tap water once should be ok Duc. Try and use the distilled water all the time - rainwater should be fine if you can catch some too. As mentioned above, flush and/or repot if you feel you must.
