Good day everybody, newbie here. I am preparing my medium (coco coir) several days before my plant order (D. spatulata) arrives. The one available in my area here in the Philippines is only coco coir and this is unwashed. It's not raining here for several days and distilled water is quite expensive so I used tap water to wash the coco coir. After two days of soaking, I obtained about a bucket of rainwater so what I did is, I drained my first setup and soaked the coco coir again but this time, it's on rainwater. Am I doing this correctly? If not, what should I do to remove the minerals in the coco coir? Btw, I already put the coco coir in their pots and water them everyday with rainwater Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much! ^_^

You need a TDS meter to tell whether or not tap water is even feasible as a washing resource and whether or not you've done enough washing. Any significant amount of salt still left in coir is not going to bode well.
