Hello, I am happy to create my first post. I hope I will find here all answers to my questions First I want to apologise for my English wich is not my native language. I hope you will understand everything . So let's start with my concern (don't know in fact if it is really a problem...). I have created four month ago a "mini terrarium" for four Drosera Prolifera (bought from the same place): 90% of blond peat and 10% of sand, 10W lighting (9-10h per day), temperature is approximately 22-23°C. Everything was doing well until one month when two plants began to turn red and their leaves have fallen off (picture below is more talking). So my question: is it normal? is there a problem with the environment? as they changed color, I thougt it could be a lighting error (too strong? too much?). The two other plant are actually "normal". If you have any idea that could help, that would be great. Thank you in advance.

The four sisters from Queensland don't like it to bright, so cut down on that. Rest of your conditions should work

Thank you for you reply. How many hours lighting would be appropriate?

Not so much the hours as the brightness, try a weaker lamp or a bit more distance.

I also have had problems with prolifera, I have no idea what it has with me, neither that species nor X Andromeda want to live here. I do have grown 4 or more clones of adelae, and also schizandra for many years, but prolifera never has wanted to live on my tropical 600m high part shade conditions.

D. prolifera can take fairly bright light (though shadier than most other CP's is still a wise idea, but it and the other Queensland species also like fairly airy soils; some people have success in sphagnum mixes, a higher proportion of sand or perlite might be good. The hairy algae/moss developing under the couple plants not doing well though might be a sign that some nutrient contamination has also shown up.

Thank you for all these advises. So my first action was to install a lower lighting (3w). Regarding media, I am not sure … I don't want to change as results could be worse than the actual situation. What do you think? maybe if I add some living sphagnum? Another question I had is: what about all those stolons, is it better to let all of them grow or just some of them? I am sure that would drain a lot of plant's Energy. Someone told me that plants in terrarium needs to be feeded. I was very surprised! is that true?
