This will be my first year trying to clone any VFT's from the flowering stalk. I've read two ways to try this. I have read mostly to lay the stalk horizontally along the soil, but I have also read somewhere (can't remember where at this point) that someone had much better success when putting the stem in the soil vertically. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Also, has anyone tried any type of rooting hormone, and does this indeed increase the chances that the stalk will take root? Thanks in advance for any information or thoughts on this.

Strikes form where the tissue is kept moist/wet. Laying them horizontally or immersed in water naturally covers more surface. I suppose you can bury more of the stalk vertically but then less light will get to the lower parts and the plantlets have more distance to reach the surface. Vertical vs horizontal strikes
