Hi anyone had any idea whether grafting of Nepenthes hamata had been done before  |

I don't think grafting Nepenthes is something done regularly. Thus it would probably be very unlikely that someone would have tried it with an expensive Nepenthes like hamata.

Nepenthes have been successfully grafted. The question is why you would want to do it and why this particular species?

I remember reading about Cliff Dodd grafting Nepenthes back in the 80's. I found a reference to the CPN article about his efforts: (1990) Grafting of Nepenthes CPN 19(3-4):103-105

As Nepenthes hamata is a very slow and sometime difficult to grow maybe by grafting them to a robust rootstock of another species this might make growing them easier. I had seen the article by Cliff Dodd but he had only succeeded on the lowland type, l think it was N.raja and N.maxima.  |

N. rajah and N. maxima are BOTH highland species.

as i said somewhere else. its been done with N. lowii on a N. x ventrata rootstock. i dont know how it is growing now or how the rootstock affected it though...
AFAIK singml: N. hamata is a relatively quick grower. not as fast as N. sanguinea. no where near as slow as lowii. i dont have one...YET but ill be able to tell from experience when i do get one.
