Has anyone noticed their Ceph lids being more "open" or "closed" under different conditions, like humidy, soil moisture or wind? I'm not talking about extremes, e. g., the soil gets completely dried and the plant is wilting or something like that.
The particular clone I have has some pitchers with lids that are normally fairly erect and almost flat (relative to most pictures I see where they are more bowl-like). This is grown indoors under light and looked that way when I got it where I believe it was grown in the CSUF greenhouse also under lights but no particularly special conditions.
At this time of the year normal humidity in the house is about 40-50% so not particularly humid. However, on two occasions when I've had the ceiling fan in the room on, I notice the Ceph lids seem to "close" down significantly. The first time I just thought the soil was a bit drier (again, not really dry, but more so than normal). The plant is normally watered from above but doesn't sit in water in the tray; it's on capillary mat that was a technique used by its original grower (who was actually the owner before the person I got it from). However, this happened again tonight and there was water in the bottom of the tray on the mat so it should have been reasonably moist. Turning off the fan and the lids are back up again within an hour (wasn't actually timing it, but I believe it was well under that).
So, has this ever been observed by anyone else?-kby
