The June 2007 issue of CPN describes three new cultivars: Dionaea 'Petite Dragon' (Ziemer) Sarracenia alata 'Night' (Cahill) Sarracenia flava 'Suspicion' (Selwyn) Photographs and the official cultivar description is found at www.carnivorousplants.org/cpn/Species/v36n2p53_56.html

I thought the 'Night' was an interesting plant. I like the coloration.

Bob, Can you recommend a reliable source(s) to get a plant of Dionaea 'Petite Dragon'? I fear that some suppliers may be tempted and release young D. 'Akai Ryu' as counterfeits', in the mad rush to obtain your new compact cultivar. Take care, Steven Stewart

Indeed. I am probably the most reliable source of 'Petite Dragon' -- although I have sent over 200 plants to 53 different people for evaluation before I decided to register it as a cultivar. Some of these plants may be around on several grow lists.
From 2003 until January 2006, people that received plants from me labeled 'Red Dragon' are actually 'Petite Dragon' (about a year ago, I e-mailed all of those recipients about the name change). Since January 2006, plants that I have sent were labeled "Petite Dragon". All of my 'Petite Dragon' plants are divisions.
In addition, there are a number of plants in circulation from my seedlings of 'Petite Dragon' x 'Jaws', 'Jaws' x 'Petite Dragon', and 'Petite Dragon' x 'Petite Dragon' (selfed). As one might know, the seedlings are not a single clone and may be variable.
In 50 years, I have never sold a CP and I do not plan to start now. I only trade plants or give them away.
