Recently my Cephalotus 'Hummer's Giant' hasn't been looking so good. A lot of the pitchers are turning yellow. I'm hoping it's not Pythium and is instead just the result of not enough water. The weather in San Francisco has been getting warmer lately and this plant is starting to receive some late afternoon sun (in addition to the T5 bulb it grows under all day). It is growing in an open top growing chamber in front of a large window that is cracked most of the time. So there is always some airflow happening. It's companions in the grow chamber are Nepenthes and Helis. Everyone else seems happy. My Ceph seemed to be doing GREAT until about a week ago. I should also mention that the Ceph is growing in the Charles Brewer mix. Here is a photo I took before I trimmed off a lot of the yellowing pitchers. Attachments:

at this time of year I often get 2 or 3 older pitchers on each plant dying back,as new growth starts to poke through. they go yellow just like yours, then brown and shrivelled. if it is more than that then you might have to worry, but I would see how it goes. when you have to worry is if the pitchers start going black from the base up, i.e. from the stalk end.

I'll have to check closer at the base of the stems. One or two I cut off were kind of dark at the base. It was just kind of odd to me that in a matter of a week or two all of the pitchers are yellowing up. I'm still hoping it was just a watering mistake on my part.

By watering mistake I mean not enough water.

I haven't really noticed any obvious blackening at the bases of the leaves and pitchers. What I do see is that some of my growth points look dead. Some are still alive though. Any suggestions? I have Physan 20 and wonder if that might be effective against Pythium if that's what my plant has...
