I take all my old juice and milk jugs and rinse them out, put hot water in them and add a drop of bleach. Then I leave it sitting overnight, and rinse it out very well the next day, until no bleach smell can be detected anymore. Are these jugs safe to store rainwater for CPs in? Thank you

That seems a bit excessive. I think simply rinsing out the jugs would suffice. The bleach is unnecessary, but doesn't hurt. The reason to use distilled, RO, or rain water is for their low dissolved minerals. Any inert storage container is fine.
