Hello,
as some of you may have noticed, i have done a CP-Tour, together with three german cper, through the western cape of South Africa last year. You can find some of my pictures here in this forum. The response was really good and we have been asked if it would be possible to put some of the pictures into a book. So, we decided to go for this project and have put together a book, which will be printed in a small limited quantity.
As of today, the book is almost finished. We are only missing some plants identities, so i hope i can send the file in about three weeks to the printing company.
Here are some informations about the book:
The book will be a Hardcover in the Format of 21cm x 21cm. It will be 206 pages (198 for pictures), fully color. The book will contain about 330 pictures we have taken in South Africa. Besides the carnivorous plants (we found all species of the western cape, expect for D. ramentacea) it will show pictures of the other flora as well as pictures of the landscapes. There will only be very few texts (no more than two lines on each page and not on every page) in english.
It will show pictures of the following carnivorous plants:
Drosera alba
Drosera aliciae
Drosera capensis
Drosera glabripes
Drosera curviscapa
Drosera esterhuyseniae
Drosera admirabilis
Drosera cistiflora (lots of different forms)
Drosera trinervia
Drosera regia
Drosera ericgreenii
Drosera cuneifolia
Drosera hilaris
Drosera pauciflora
Drosera sp. Nieuwoudtville
Drosera slackii
Roridula dentata
Roridula gorgonias
Utricularia bisquamata
(i hope, i didn't forget a plant)
To give you a better impression, you can view a preview of about 20 pages here:
www.utricularia.net/temp/t.pdf
We will (if nothing unexpected happens) be able to sell the book for 35€ (which will be the cost for printing!). Shipping from Germany to the US will sadly be realtiively expensive and will most likely be about 10€. If someone knows how to send books cheaper, please let me know!
If you are intersted in a copy of this book, please let me know - best by Mail - via the form. As i will cover the whole fiancial risk by myself, i will only print as much copies as i can surely sell. This means, that you should really let me know if you want to have a copy, because otherwise i cannot promise you to get one.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
