[Hello, in the last month I came back to Carnivorous Plants. After I have got some new plants I have searched for a possibility to manage my grow list. Unfortunately I don´t find anything. So I decided to make my own programm for this purpose. It´s very easy to use! If anyone is interested you can download the setup-programm here: www.carnivoren.infoI would be glad about any feedback to make this programm better in the future!. Best wishes Boris

This is pretty cool. Here are a couple ideas I had.
When you went to make the growlist text file, it'd be nice to also have options for including remarks, origin, and/or location.
I'd also like to see genus headers separating each genus from the others generated in the text file.
There could be more genus filters that are more specific such as "Drosera (tuberous)" and "Nepenthes (Highland).
Great stuff so far!

Hi Jason,
in the next weeks I will improve the growlist output. Then you will be able to do everything you mentioned! And I also will think about the genus filters!
Best wishes

Hey, I like the new options. I was playing around a little more and I got into a bit of a bug.
If you create a new entry that has a species name with "x," then you use the copy function and fill in a new species name and hit "apply," an error occurs. It's a bit hard to explain, so I'll just have you try it.
Make a new entry for "Nepenthes xiphioides" and save it. Now click "copy" In the copied version, fill in a new species name like "alata" click "apply" You'll see that the data stored in both resulting entries is swapped, and one of the entries persists as "Nepenthes xiphioides K O P I E"
With a little experimentation, going from "maxima" to "alata" produces the same result. Going from "x coccinea" to "alata" produces the same result. However, going from "fallax" to "alata" does not. Also, going from "maxima" to "xiphioides" does not result in an error. Finally, going from "alata x ventricosa" to "alata" is also fine.

So, I have solved the problem (I hope ) In the next update (larger than 0.7.19) the bug ist fixed. I also have added a autocomplete function for the most textboxes. Now it´s much easier to enter larger collections!

Hi,
I just load a new release on the Server. I have fixed a lot of mirror bugs. But I also added some special functions like a easy was to add plant. Now you can search in a online database for you plant you want to add. Beside the genus dropDown list you will find a small butto to open the online database. This is the last beta. The next version will be the final!
Best wishes
Boris

Is there any possibility that you may soon opt the program to include compatibility with Macintosh, Macs etc. ? I love the idea for your program but find it dissapointing that other folks with different operating systems can't run it. Also would it be possible to change the format of the downloaded file to say, a dmg/sit ? Keep up the great work, and happy growing.

This is great!
One question - what's the difference between "place", "location" and "origin"?
I think "Location"must be the geographical location where the plant originated. Origin and place may be related to where you bought it or who you got it from? Better words for that might be "Vendor" and "Address"

Better words for that might be "Vendor" and "Address" Hi, "place", "location" and "origin" means the following: location = the place where the plants collected in the wild (or there ancestors) place = the place where you have 'stored' the plant origin = the person or the saler where you geth the plant If some other termes would match better let me know. Best wishes Boris
