Hey there. I'm new to this forum, and sort of new to growing CP's. I've been growing them for a few years, but have been really into it for about 2 years now. I'm from Canada, and it's good to see other Canadians on this forum. I look forward to being part of some discussions, and possibly starting some myself.

I forgot to state my name: Kevin. Yes, it does get cold here, but we're used to it. I'm from Winnipeg, which is zone 2, at least according to the Canadian zone map, maybe not the USDA. It's too bad that most of the info out there on CP's is for warmer climates, like zone 5 and up. I see you're from California - that must be nice! My best plant so far is S. flava 'maxima', grown in a pot and overwintered inside, of course. And, I have found out that D. capensis is super easy to grow from seed!

Well hi Kevin, CA has great weather for cps. I can grow temperate plants outdoors and it has a great temperature for anyone. Also some overheard someone told someone else that D. capensis grows like a weed from flower so you should cut them off unless you want tons more.

I guess I'll have to do that - that's where I got all of mine! I wanted to see how easy they were to germinate, and now I know! Well, I think I've introduced myself enough - don't want to get off topic too much.
