Hey guys, I need your help. I've been growing Utricularia in my tub for half a year now and have been trying to fight back the anooying bugs like mosquitoes that try to lay their larvae in there. Its getting really irrtiating to use dunks as it isn't always efficient in getting the creatures to die. Please give me some advise on this issue.

How large is the tub? If it's significantly sized, you may want to consider biological control in the form of mosquitofish.

I was actually considering using damselfly nymphs as they like eating other larvae.

This is a bit late coming a month after this convo stopped but you can also used mosquito dunks. They're non toxic, the active 'ingredient' is BT (Bacillus thuringiensis). IT attacks the larvae and basically breaks them down...alive. Depending on how many you have you may have to repot as to prevent the carcasses from breaking down and increasing your pH.
