Hello all, I currently have a Pinguicula aphrodite which is sending up it's first flowers and was wondering if anyone would be willing or wanting to cross this with another ping and split the seeds 50/50. I would have to send you the pollen as aphrodite cannot produce seeds since it is apparently sterile but it has successfully pollinated other Pings. Let me know if you're interested I'd love to see what's available and what possibilities can come out of these!

My Pinguicula 'Aphrodite' since September. It haves 2 flowers at the moment and some other flowers are emerging. I didn't knew it was serf sterile.
I have about five other pinguicula flowering now.
Unfortunately I live in Europe, so I can't change any pollen with you.

Is pollen exchanging internationally outlawed or does the pollen simply not last long enough?

I don't know. If I sent it as a simple postcard you should have it in a few days. But it's freezing over here, it's now minus 5 degrees Celsius. And it's only getting colder.

Those conditions are actually preferable to keep pollen viable. But I wouldnt waste your time sending you pollen from a plant that you already have!
