Having been a cp enthusiast for at least seven years, I decided to join the ICPS hoping to see and learn how growing them successfully can be more pleasurable. My conservatory based collection is modest compared to many I have already viewed on the ICPS web-pages. Prior to becoming really interested, I was lead to believe that keeping any cp alive for more than a year was a very hit and miss affair, best left to the 'experts'. I started with an inherited collection of a few Mexican pinguiculas, one sarracenia and and two pots of Pinguicula grandiflora. Now I have more pinguiculas. flytraps - a few grown from seed - drosera and nepenthes. Over time I have had on going battles with greenfly, mold and ants. My next project is to try growing utricularia in a fish tank- minus the fish! Any advice would be most welcome.

Hi Roadrunner,
I don't grow them myself but I know where you may be able to start. Try the guys from the Victorian CP Socitey here in Australia (VCPS)
Here is their link: [ftp]http://www.vcps.au.com/[/ftp]
I'm sure that there are a few guys who can help, I know for a fact one of the members grows them in a fish tank with fish.
Dave.
