I've gotten a few seeds of Byblis lamellata to sprout and I am wondering what I can do to ensure success? I've read that the seedlings are susceptible to fungus so I've sprayed them with Physan. Other than that the pot is sitting outside, gets at least a three hours of direct sun each day (it would get more in the summer but it's now winter) and is sitting in 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water. Any more suggestions??

Hello! I would not keep Byblis lamellata soaking wet, especially in it's seedling stage...I think that is why most Byblis seedlings are susceptible to fungus in cultivation. In situ, most Byblis grow in very sandy soils that experience drier conditions between waterings. I always keep the soil moist, but never in the tray system, in standing water or over-saturated. Happy Growing, Brian.

Thanks for the info, Brian. I'll take the pot out of the saucer it was in and just overhead water it from now on.
