As far as I am aware, a Nepenthes will only flower once it has reached a certain age (determined by the individual plant) in adult-hood. Certain plants can be induced to flower with chemicals and or photo-period manipulation, but i don't think Nepenthes can. Also, Pansy's flower in their second year of life in a two year life cycle, whereas A nepenthes could take up-wards of 5 years to flower depending on species. Most species will only flower after having produced upper pitchers. Some plants may flower when stressed but stress could also kill your plant.

I have always found that the length of the vine and the time of year will determine when the plant will flower, some of my plants flower in spring, some late summer and some in autum.
