I am currently growing seven species of pygmy Drosera in my terrarium. I am considering moving these to a windowsill with spring just around the corner (NZ grower), to make the plants as colourful and robust as possible.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of how robust the plants are on a windowsill under direct sun? I have one potential windowsill for the plants, which is very bright but receives direct sun from around 10am to 4pm. Other windowsills in the house I consider to dark, so the terrarium is probably a better option.
Would the sun and heat from this windowsill be too much for the plants? Any advice would be appreciated.

Most of the Pygmy Drosera love plenty of light so they should do well.
They are also basically winter growers so why wait?

Winter in Christchurch can get rather chilly, with frosts quite regularly. I understand that pygmy Drosera tolerate mild frosts but from my reading, not to the temperatures which occur here occasionally. The Drosera are around three months old, from gemmae, so used the terrarium to get them started.

Ah, right. The areas in Western Australian they are native to are much further north than your location.
Carry on!
