Cool flowerstalks. Don;t Bromeliad-type plants die after flowering though?

Cool flowerstalks. Don;t Bromeliad-type plants die after flowering though? Hello all, Great photos Brian! I've read this many times from members of the various carnivorous plant groups. Bromeliads send out basal pups and divide into multiple plants after flowering. The old growth will "die" after flowering (and possibly setting seed), but there is usually an increase of plants (if in good growing conditions). Many monocots such as bananas and gingers "die" after flowering, but are replaced by sometimes numerous asexual offshoots. I hope there is some good seed set Brian! So far it looks like there is some swelling on some of the ovaries. Take care, Steven Stewart
