Hello all. Well our U. humboldtii plants are starting to develop traps. They all seem to be happy & doing well. I am still planning to order some U. tricolor. We will also be getting some U. macrorhiza. We already have U. gibba my husband got some years back from Peter D'Amato. First I need to get their habitat set up & established. This is just like setting up a fish aquarium. Getting the eco-system all balanced correctly. Mary

Hey Folks, For anyone on this list, please note that I've just FedExed the seed of U. humboldtii to Travis. I noticed that this time, a significant percentage of the seeds were brown, as opposed to all being green. In collecting the seeds, I harvested all the capsules on our plants, including some that had split a few days earlier and two that had not yet split but were filled with seeds that were loose in the capsules. Perhaps one or more of the capsules had bad seed....I can't say. I put all the seeds in a single container, so everyone should have the same probability of success. Please remember that Travis is sending you seed for just a few bucks; don't holler at him if they don't germinate. Good luck! Barry P.S. And, uh, remember the ICPS in your will....

Hey Folks,
Yesterday I FedExed the large amount of U. humboldtii seed I harvested to Travis.
Unfortunately, tests I have just completed show that after about 48 hours in water only about 25% of the seed in this batch germinated. So the quality of this seed is lower than in the other seed. Sorry about that---this is my fault and not Travis's.
I've been doing some viability studies, and it seems that in open greenhouse conditions, the seeds drop hugely in viability after only a few days. Ideal storage is apparently in the refrigerator! More later, as I complete my data gathering.

For me, even having a chance to get any humboldii seeds is worth a try at $3.Heck, I spend more then that on teeth my 5 year old has been losing. Mark W.

I see 2 seeds germinating. The crystalline entity has started.
Maybe 3 total.
Which is better then nutting.

I'm really happy to hear this. I was really concerned that a very high percentage of the seed in the second shipment was bad. But as long as some germinated, coolio!!!!

So far I see 5 seedlings. I see 2 making bladders above the sphagnum. Is that normal?
