I got the email from Timber Press a couple of days ago, but I doubt anyone has yet got their hands on a copy.

I haven't read that one yet, but would love to...I just read Barry's book- great photos and some good growing tips.

Hey Folks,
This surprised me! Timber Press certainly has made a commitment to popularize carnivorous plant horticulture. This is making up for their carrying the old Pietropaolo book for so many years!

I only looked through the German edition, but found it too expensive for its content.

I'll gladly go the 39.00 plus shipping price, but would like to at least hear a review or two....Looks fairly interesting though. Hmmmm....

This new English edition is an updated and revised translation of the original German text first published in 2004 as:
Barthlott, W., S. Porembski, R. Seine, I. Theisen. 2004. Karnivoren: Biologie und Kultur fleischfressender Pflanzen (ISBN: 3-8001-4144-2). 224 pp. (Eugen Ulmer GmbH & Co., Wollgrasweg 41, 70599 Stuttgart, Germany). $49.90 hard cover.
Last week, I ordered a copy of the newly published English edition from Amazon for $26.36 with free shipping (in the U.S.). The book arrived yesterday, but I have not yet had a chance to read it.

Thanks for this information! At the European CP-meeting (EEE) in Bonn 2006 the German edition was available for EURO 51,-. That are about more than $ 72,- ........... however, no shipping fees.

I see what you mean about being expensive in Germany Siggi. I bought a copy at the RHS gardens at Wisley about a month ago. It was £25. If you want to work that out in dollars or euros, try the currency converter at www.ft.com.
