A new species, Nepenthes sharifah-hapsahii, from Peninsular Malaysia was recently described by Jumaat H. Adam and Hafiza A. Hamid in Pitcher Plants (Nepenthes) Recorded From Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia, International Journal of Botany 3(1): 71-77, 2007.

The authors state that this newly described species is closely related to Nepenthes gracilis.
