Hi Everyone, You can tell spring is here! Here is a partial view of the Sarr bench   S. rubra gulfensis dark form #1  Natural Hybrid from Washington Cnty, Alabama. We are going to register this officially as the cultivar S. 'Manny Herrera' very soon. The color changes through the season, this is a photo of the "golden" stage. Traps become red/purple with age. This is one of our favorite Sarracenia.  |

Fantastic, I love it! Your new cultivar is great!
Since this thread only has pics of one genus I'm going to move it to the Sarracenia forum. The photo's section is for misc. plants, photos of your multigeneric collection collection, etc.
Seriously fantastic new cultivar and you have awesome Leuco's, too!

Yes indeed, your Drosera binata is definitely a multifida. The number of divisions and the leaf color is diagnostic. If you regularly get more than about 16 tips on the larger leaves of undisturbed plants (like, 16-40 tips) you've got the kind that folks call extrema.
(Alas, the names are not correctly established, but this is how they are widely used.)

Absolutely stunning plants! My Sarras haven't even begun to start pitchering. I have seen some flower buds (some I notice seemed to have been killed off in a sudden temperature plunge a couple of weeks ago...  ). I need to get outside and start cleaning up the microbogs so I can see what's growing. LOVE the plants and EXCELLENT photos! |

Thanks, we're glad you are enjoying the pics. S. flava (heavy viened ornata) from Sandy Creek, FL  S. flava ornata  The next 3 shots are S. 'Reptilian Rose' just hardening up (parentage = S. oreophila Sand Mtn x moorei 'Big Red') This is a fantastic cultivar. Pitchers are HUGE and they smell like a rose.
