On July 28th at 1 PM I will be teaching a workshop on growing CPs for beginners at our local library: Southshore Library in Ruskin (south of Tampa, Florida). I will use my plants as examples for what to do, and what not to do. I've only been growing for 3 years, so I have mistakes to learn from. And I hope to have plants to give away to the participants. I will give out care sheets, which combine knowledge I have gained from reading books/websites, talking to growers and from growing my own plants outside in Florida. I believe education is the key to conservation. I love teaching about the joys and the ease of growing many common CPs. On August 25 at 1 PM I will teach a class about CP propagation for beginners at Southshore. Simple seeds, stratification, cuttings and root cuttings. Nothing complicated. If I can save one Venus Flytrap from the compost heap, I will be thrilled. Tanja.

Events added to the calendar. This should result in at least a thousand participants from overseas. Be prepared!

lol i want a plant....but yeah is there any way that you could record your class and post it somewhere like youtube??? I had never thought about that. My classes are so informal. I usually have a mix of adults and children, and much of the class depends on what everyone wants to know. I just teach basics. Soil, light, water, . . . how not to kill your plant in the first month. The last class was basic propagation. Seeds, what flowers look like, stratification, leaf cuttings, root cuttings, . . . I will be teaching another series starting in January. I hope to have more plants to give away. Since I am a beginner grower (only three years, but over 200 plants), I teach for beginners. I'll see about a short clip for YouTube in the spring. Might be a good marketing bit for the library too. Thanks for the idea, Tanja.
