Hey Folks, Digging through my backlog of trip reports to get on line, I'm happy to post a nice trip to see mountain Sarracenia. This involved some pretty spectacular rope fun. Comments are appreciated! www.sarracenia.com/trips/ncsc032007.htmlCheers Barry

Barry,
Fantastic photos. Did you ever make it by Highlands Biological Station? The areas of the part of NC that you visited are dear in my heart for its floral and faunal diversity.
I particularly like the exoskeleton shot of the stonefly on the S. purpurea. Someone could second me on this but the stonefly looks like it belongs to the family Perlidae. I could just make out the M/W shape on its head. You must of been somewhere near some running water and the stonefly crawled up to emerge and begin life as an adult.
Thanks,
Victor

Hey Victor,
Indeed....the stonefly shot was on a pitcher immediately over flowing water.
I haven't been to the Highlands Biological Station yet.
I do love the area, as well!
