Same, is sad to hear of more plants being covered in houses or strip malls.

One more sad example amongst many.
It's interesting to note from the photos just how sandy the soil is.

Indeed Aidan. It was interesting to see how some of the pitchers seemed to just shoot out of pure sand. It looked as if these were the first crop of pitchers to sprout after the clear cutting.

What a shame. In cases such as this, is removing the plants for conservation legal?

Hey Bananahands,
I'm guessing that you'd first have to track down the owners. In all probability they'll be entirely happy to give you permission. If you did it when they weren't there with you, you'd want the permission in writing, and on your person.
