Mr. Barry Rice!! I always enjoy looking at your field trips!!! You are very lucky to able to do what you do!! I admire your website and always have to go back and see all those carnivorous plants growing in the wild!! My favorite is when you went to the Green Swamp and I got to see Venus Flytraps growing in the wild... I hope to be able to do that someday and take pictures too!! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful field trips! Ricky Haag

Superb! I believe that the plant you've labelled as D. subhirtella is actually D. stricticaulis though.

Superb! I believe that the plant you've labelled as D. subhirtella is actually D. stricticaulis though. Hey Seanspence, I'll take a look at this tonight. Some of the IDs were a bit tricky, and were made in part because of additional photos which were taken by Beth and are not on line. But I'll get back to you on this. Cheers Barry

It's hard work, making connections, doing research, scraping pennies, and a lot of sweat. Alas, for all the trips I show, there are many excursions that come up empty! But you're right...it's dam n fun! Cheers Barry P.S. I've got another Green Swamp trip I've got to report on!!!!

Superb! I believe that the plant you've labelled as D. subhirtella is actually D. stricticaulis though. Hey Sean, I looked at my references last night and concluded quickly that you are 100% correct. I had missed out that D. subhirtella is covered with RED glands on the stem etc., which is very different from the plants I showed. I had ruled out D. stricticaulis when IDing my plants because we were practically Southern Coastal, and Lowrie Vol I shows D. stricticaulis as only being north of Perth. But I guess that's a bit off. I've updated my trip report and credited you for the correction. (Keep the corrections coming, I love it!) Some other elements of my web site will show it as D. subhirtella until I upload my next trip report (WA #4). Cheers Barry
