In my web wanderings this morning, I saw that the 2007 IUCN Redlist of threatened species was recently released. A quick review of the list didn't reveal any updates for, or new listings of, CP's [IUCN 2007. 2007 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. < www.iucnredlist.org>. Downloaded on 16 September 2007]. While I was looking through the site--I see that the Redlist Carnivorous Plant Specialist Group is in the process of having a chair appointed. I'm curious is anybody from ICPS involved in the group?

Thanks for the information. I do not know about ICPS involvement, but I will attempt to find out.

Hey Folks,
The ICPS has worked a lot with the IUCN in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. I considered throwing my hat in the ring for the IUCN chair, but I've got too many other things going on to afford the time.

Hi Barry, it's good to know ICPS has history with IUCN, and is open to the future. I would have been very surprised if there hadn't been some sort of connection.
What? Too busy to be Chair? I can't imagine how that could be...I think I've only seen you post about one or two or three or four or fiv...a few things... All the while keeping folks like me out of CP-Karma problems (the next time around?) :-)
Happy Trails, Mike
