Hello all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and ate too much like i did! Question; After reading so much about how New Zealand sphagnum is the "caviar" of CP growing media, Is it really any better than good Ol' Canadian sphagnum? Is it really "all that"? Please tell me before i re-pot my whole greenhouse in the stuff ;D...

Hello ... I think I found out how to reply...LOL.. Well I always used Canadian sphagnum and had very good luck with it!! I never used New Zealand sphagnum, where do you find it? Since I have been here in Florida I can't even find Canadian Sphagnum peat moss in those big bales!!! I had to order online at acewarehouseoutlet.com....which they carry diffrent sizes and it's pure and no fertilizers added to it!!! You just have to pay a lot of shipping cost, but it's what I have to do to get Peat Moss!!!

Hi! You can get Canadian sphagnum or good Chilean sphagnum from Home Depot. They have the Chilean stuff in the orchid dept. outside. The stuff from Chile seems more compact and mossier than the Canadian.

I certainly have no problems with NZ sphagnum but then I'm from there. Unfortunately I haven't seen any other imported stuff to compare it to. I mostly use the long fiber stuff though
