Hi I would like to know if the water coming from the air-conditioner is ok to use....It is condensed water is it not?
I have been using my pond water for over 2 years now and was just wondering about the subject.....

In theory it should be OK. See Barry's FAQ page here: www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq3370.htmlDespite Barry's concerns, most European growers collect and use rainwater on their plants.

Actually, I don't find all rain water to be "created equal" per se. When it hasn't rained for a stretch of a few weeks or so, the ppm of the water collected can actually be quite high for my area. As a result of this, I tend to disconnect the tubing from the rain barrels until it has been raining for a half hour or so. Seems to help tremendously in reducing the ppm to that which would be deemed acceptable. Now mind you, I am in the Chicago land area. Pollutants abound.

Same might be true of A/C water, especially if it hasn't been used in a while (although the evaporator will tend to collect more "indoor" pollution than "outdoor" pollution. Also if there is paint or other debris in the path to the drain (such as the usually uncovered tray aka the bottom of the A/C case that collects the water and conducts it to the outside drain). The water itself is fine; just being careful it isn't the equivalent of rainwater running off the roof.-kby
