I know that VFTs secrete chitinase to make their insect prey's exoskeleton more porous, to allow the digestive enzymes in and to let the digested products out. Are the changes in the exoskeleton visible, in micrographs? I've been looking on line, but so far, I haven't found a combination of search terms that brings up the kinds of image that I'm looking for.
Thanks!
