I few months ago I purchased a small bicalcarata and what I received was what looks like 4-5 small basal shoots. I left the plant as is because I didn't want to disturb the plant too much. The plants are growing steadily but after changing lighting I've noticed yellowing of the leaves which I think is the cause as no other parameters have changed. My other plants are loving the change. Was it alright to keep all the basal shoots or will they be competing too much with one another?

When that happens, usually it may be an excess of growth hormones added to a TC plant, and those tend to not have many roots. So if you have good experience making cuttings you may try them. Leave them as they are now, or slowly like once a month taking one out.
