Hello carnivorous plant enthusiasts! I am new to this hobby and need help with my fist plant, nepenthes alata. This nepenthes had grown an entirely new leaf and is growing new pitchers since I bought it about 2 weeks ago. However, the root system is incredibly small and almost nonexistent. The roots that do exist are not brittle or squishy and are hair-like. Any help is much appreciated! Extra info:
I water only with distilled water The substrate is a mix of bark and carnivorous plant mixture (i have no clue the exact components) No pitchers have died as of right now

I can just about guarantee it's a x "ventrata," not alata (alata is extremely uncommon in cultivation and most things under the name are mislabeled hybrids with an entirely different species). Without photos there is very little that can really be given, but if it is growing then do not bother the roots. Just keep the soil (hopefully it's a sphagnum mix, and not a peat mix, preferably) just moist, never wet, and give it strong light; they're not shade-loving plants. If conditions are appropriate it will continue to grow roots just as it will leaves.
