When I got my Nepenthes it was recommended that I spray it with a epiphytic fertilizer every few weeks. Does anyone else do this, and does it work?

I do it. I've used species epiphyte fertilizer , regular orchid fertilizer, and even miracle grow. I haven't noticed a difference between fertilizer types or element ratio's personally. Yes, it does make a difference

foliar feeding isn't as good as root feeding, but you really have to know what you're doing with that or else you can mess things up really easily

Doesn't what you spray on the foliage make it to the soil and the roots, or am I missing something?
Cheers,
Joe

Some of it would have to obviously. I'm talking about fully watering the soil w/ fertilizer though. Every two weeks i mix up some fertilizer and water till it drips out of the bottom of the pots. Foliar feeding doesn't really do much at all, especially in comparison

I just copied and pasted this from my other thread at another forum. Here's 3 consecutive pitchers of N. bical "red" x campanulata. If anyone else has one of these I'd love to see! First Second Third Here's a plant Ludwig sent me I'd say a month ago? A month sounds right.Ludwig can correct me on that because I live in a time-warp sometimes lol. It's bellii x ventricosa. Here it is when I got it And here it is now. Maybe it's just exponential growth but I do fertilize weekly. I use shultz orchid fertilizer. I just eyeball it, I don't measure. I'd say a gram per 16 ounces of RO water or so. I foliar feed and put it directly in the pitchers (But I do not feed solds). That's probably bad.

Here's my post from that forum as well: I'm convinced. All comments are observations on newest pitchers, since applying fertilizers. Latest N. maxima x veitchii; larger peristome opening: N. glabrata; these are 2 consecutive pitchers on a plant I have had for over a year! N. spathulata x spectabilis: N. thorelii x TM, the latest to open; notice the larger mouth opening: N. spathulata x stenophylla; consecutive pitchers: This to me is most dramatic...N. xWrigleyana, and again, these are 2 consecutive pitchers on a plant I have had for a year, same growing conditions: My unknown #1, showing a lot more girth to the body: And another unknown, but its largest to date: I'm using seaweed and fish in the same application, once every 5-7 days, and flushing pots 2 days after application. Please post any evidence you see here, as this fascinates me.
