I'm fairly certain it is but I can't be sure.

Looks good. Pitchers and leaves get thin and elongated if it isn't getting enough sunlight for the amount of watering, and there is a bit of a smell that warns you of fungi (the smell is extremely apparent if the plants are kept in an enclosed small space, such as a terrarium or mini greenhouse). Pitcher plants, unlike some other CP, develop signs of distress a bit earlier. A lot of these plants can look near perfect while half-dead.

But pitcher plants will usually have easy to spot symptoms before it is too late. Wish I could say the same of Venus flytraps; the only way to tell if they are unhappy without checking the base is by looking at the speed at which the trap closes, and older traps will close slower and often lead to "false alarms".

I apologize, i know sarcasm never translates well in text. I was simply joking because of how well the plant was eating at the time.

Wow that's a big pitcher. I didn't realize it until I noticed the ants around the rim.

You joker you. Plenty of CP noobs would still wonder if it is ok. You selling any cuttings? I am looking to expand my collection, which is sorely lacking of nepenthes.

No, unfortunately the plant is still in its rosette phase, the largest pitcher (the one in the picture) is only about 3.5 inches. I got the plant from Cook's Carnivores and the second leaf it sent out under my care was significantly larger so i'm hoping to get the plant to full size in just a couple of years from now. But order one from cook's carnivores in a 4" ( www.flytraps.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=23792 )pot and you'll be able to get a free Venus Flytrap without any other purchases as long as you add this: www.flytraps.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=26948 to the order.

Sweet, I will look into that. Oh the wondrous and deadly beauty of carnivorous plants. In a fit of whimsy, I named my Venus flytrap colony Lord of the Flies.
