Hi everyone
I and a scientific person here in the botanical garden are trying to determinate an aquatic Utricularia.
He is a Mycologist so not familiar with CP's at all and I never did it on Utrics before.
According to Taylor's book Id can be made by flower and Traps. Jet i didn't had time to read much further
Are there other crucial things we will have to look for? We did look at the traps entrance and looked for the tentacles. According the source I got the plant from it should be U vulgaris or macrorhiza BUT yesterday we looked at the tentacles and there's NO recemblance at all with one of those species, so we are looking for other characterists.
anyone who could help us with this. what chatracterists we need to ook for too.
It didn't flowered so no flowers too look for
Best regards
Christophe

Does it produce a sort of inflated surface leaf/leaves (like stellaris), or leaves at all for that matter or is it more like gibba where its just viny, does it float freely or attach to the bottom, I find these help in utric ID.

Inflaring surface leaves and floating. here is a picture of the trap maded by André De Kesel: Well I readed a bit more and seems we will need to messure the digestive glands... to know more. I will post a picture of the plant tomorrow.

It doesn't help, but that is a fine photograph!
It may help to post a photo of the whole plant. Some of the larger Utrics like U. macrorhiza are quite recognisable.
