Hello, a bit more than one week ago, a german group of six people came back from a trip through the southern states of the USA. I am slowly getting through my pictures and will now start to show the one or the other picture of what we found. For four of us, the trip started in Virginia. We were really happy to get the chance to visit Phil Sheridan at Meadowview! I have been there in 2010 already and so i was really interested to see how things are going on there. We spent a whole day at the Headquarter watching at the plants, sitting in the sun, having some good chats and doing a small representation of our trip to Western Australia from 2011. Here are some pictures of the plants and animals we could see at the Headquarter: In his greenhouse, he also keeps some subtropical Drosera and Nepenthes: There is a pond right behind the Headquarter, that has a laarge population of Aldrovanda in it: There is also the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Birding & Wildlife Trail close to the Headquarter. We were guided there and could find some of the S. purpurea, that are growing there: Our first day in the US came finally to end and we drove back to our Motel. For the next day a trip to Joseph Pines was planed. More about this soon. regards, Christian
