Hi everyone
When is the best time to buy a VFT, as far as it being shipped? Curious to see if it being shipped while dormant would be the best time or during it's growing season.
Thanks for any help

In my opinion, you can go both ways, but remember to keep things cooler and not as wet, until active growth returns... Just before Spring is great, as the plants are getting ready to start their active growing season. Then, you don't have to worry about the dormancy requirements of a newly acquired plant. It is safer that way... Brian.

Thanks for the info Drosera5150. I was just thinking if the plant was shipped during dormancy, that the handling i'm sure it will receive during shipment wouldn't effect it as much.

It doesn't really make a difference. A plant shipped in full growth will have its traps triggered and be a bit harder to pot up, but you can buy VFTs through the post at any time.

Yes I found that VFT are actually very hardy and I have them shipped to me and they do very well!! I have just recently purchased some 'B52' for connerscarnivores.com and David sent me very healthy robust flytraps!!! I have them transplanted and within weeks they were developing strong root system!!! I am getting actually a couple more from David this week!! I have had the best of luck with his flytraps and being very healthy!! Ricky
