Hi I'm trying to grow a couple plants from seed for the first time. and I'm noticing some green stuff growing on the perlite and now I'm seeing it cover the top of the soil....is it mold? If so what do I use to get rid of it....it's in a 10 gallon tank under and LED light that produces 800 lumens the lid of the tank is a screen to allow air and the tank stays a steady 80 degrees.....I'm not sure if that info helps in figuring out if it's mold or not....Any help would be great. Oh yeah and the seeds are for D. Capensis "Narrow Leaf Red" and D.Burmanni Attachments:

I had the same exact thing when I was germinating capensis. It seems pretty harmless, didnt do any damage to my plants so it's probably nothing to worry about.

Algae, no way to get rid of it without most likely harming the seedlings. If it gets out of control you can carefully scoop it off without disturbing the seedlings. Usually harmless unless it takes over the pot.

It took mine about three weeks but I think it depends on your conditions. High humidity and good lighting helps.
