Here are some photos of Dionaea 'Bigmouth' forming multiple & deformed traps after insect damage. Arrows show the effected leaves. These traps have all opened. All traps are functional. This picture is of the three trapped leaf before cilia are visible. The day before the three traps opened This is when I first noticed the leaves would be deformed from the prior insect damage. Take care, Steven Stewart

Really interesting photos. If you don't mind my asking, which insect did this please?

Hello Pinglover, A very rare and valuable one that I am now selling for a small fortune! The "Teenage mutant Venus flytrap insect" Actually it was a small mealybug insect. I believe "longtailed mealybug" crawlers. Occasionally they get through my window screen, as do aphids, and I am forced to use insecticide. Aphids seem to especially like the petiolaris group of Drosera! Take care, Steven Stewart

Hey Steve, I believe a three trapped leaf is a record. Has anyone else ever seen such a thing? Barry

I have seen a photo of a leaf with at least five (may have been seven) traps. Though unlike Steve's plant, I don't believe the traps fully completed their development.

You could nick name that one 'Cerberus' after the three headed dog that guards the gates of hell!!!
